Mechanics at Work

The car care center gives kids an opportunity to work on something important to their everyday lives and learn about how cars work without breaking anything important. Pretend play allows kids to learn more about the world around them, and encourages independence and confidence. Kids can sharpen their problem solving skills by following work orders and develop language and social skills by working with other mechanics.

What’s going on?

Let your child lead the way. They know how to play best! Ask them how they are solving the car’s issues; What kinds of tools are they using? What needs to be fixed?

Taking care of cars is an important job to keep us safe and help us get where we’re going. Kids know cars are important to their lives, and giving them an opportunity to learn more about how cars work will help them to feel more connected to their environment.
